Will never buy another Danby product.

I had previously bought GE dehumidifiers from my local independent dealer. They worked great, but the problem was, they didn't last and I had to replace them every three to five years. At the suggestion of my dealer, I bout two Danby dehumidifiers on 5/31/22. Turned then on, and they worked great. The next season, when I turned them on, with one of them while the fan worked, the unit did NOT remove moisture from the air. Fortunately, it still had about a month to go on the warranty. So the called the dealer where I bought it . They said I had to go through Danby directly to get a replacement. Which I did. I thought it would be easy. Just get authorization to do a swap at the retailer. Not so fast!!! After much going back and forth and the fact that they were out of stock, they finally agreed to the dealer swap! Something , in my mind they should have done from the start. Everything is good now right? Not so fast!! Both units starting icing up!! The unit is supposed to have a deicing feature. Well one of them leaked water all over the counter causing it to warp!! I still have to check both daily for ice and have had to turn the units off to deice them manually. My old GE units NEVER had that issue. I will never buy another Danby product again!!

customer service
Hi GK61, I'm so sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Danby dehumidifiers. I understand how frustrating it can be to deal with recurring problems, especially when you've had good experiences with other products in the past. It's possible that the units may have developed a buildup of minerals or other debris that's affecting their performance. I recommend checking the air filters and drainage tubes to ensure they're clear and not clogged. Additionally, you can try adjusting the humidity setting to see if that improves the unit's performance. I want to assure you that we're committed to providing you with the best possible experience. If you're still experiencing issues, I'd be happy to help troubleshoot further or contract our consumer service team to provide you with further resolution. Please feel free to reach out to us at consumerservice@danby.com via email, and we'll do our best to address your concerns. Regards, Earl

Runs great, no problems. Exactly what we wanted. Danby has been around for a long time so that is what made us decide on this make.

FAQs
Information pertaining to watts and camps can be found on the rating plated located on the side of the unit.
We do not recommend using an extension cord.
Square feet is calculated by multiplying the length by the width.  For example, a room that is 10 feet long by 25 feet wide is 250 square feet.
This varies based on model, however most models have been manufactured to have the fan turn off automatically.
This is not recommended, as the unit is built to operate using the drain hose/power cord provided.
This varies by model, however all dehumidifiers are a one shot timer. Please refer to the owner's manual for timer instruction.
This feature varies according to the product you have. It is recommended to check the manual for detailed instructions. Some models require screwing the hose onto the outlet on the back of the unit. Other models require the hose to be fed through the back of the unit and connect to the adaptor above the bucket area, then replace the bucket.
There are a couple of reasons this could be occuring. 1) There may not be enough humidity in your environment or 2) Your relative humidity set higher than ambient humidity. Please adjust your settings accordingly if this is the case.
This will vary based on humidity level. It will pump out the water when it reaches a certain level (pump models only).
It is supposed to be there to help determine the water level.
We recommend setting your dehumidifier to between 40-50%.
Danby dehumidifiers uses 2.2 to 4.1 Amps, and 250 to 420 Watts, based on this year’s model, varying with size.
Danby’s dehumidifiers operate at a sound level between 50 and 56 decibels. This is within the normal decibel range for modern “quiet” dehumidifiers.
Danby dehumidifiers come with reusable filters.  You would only need to replace a filter if it becomes damaged.
All Danby dehumidifiers offer both a bucket for collecting water which can be removed and emptied when full as well as a continuous drain which bypasses the bucket with the use of a hose and gravity to empty into a drain.  Some models have a pump option.
The water produced by your Danby’s dehumidifiers is referred to as grey water. It is not suitable for drinking, but can be great for watering plants and flowers.
